CARMICHAEL, Sacramento County — The next phase of renovations at Carmichael Park remains in the Sacramento County review process, according to the most recent progress entry on the local recreation district’s website.
What the second phase proposes
The Carmichael Recreation and Park District’s Phase II project page says the planned work will focus on accessible and safer parking areas, vehicle circulation lanes and pedestrian walkways. These changes are part of the district’s broader Measure G capital-improvement program.
What is the documented status?
The district says concept designs were presented and approved by its advisory board in February 2026. Plans were then submitted to Sacramento County for permits in March. Monthly updates from April through September 2026 continued to describe those plans as under county review.
This means an approved conceptual design should not be confused with all final permits having been issued or construction being completed. The official page does not establish an opening or completion date for Phase II as of the September update.
What does this mean for park users?
People attending events, sports programs or the weekly farmers’ market should rely on current district notices for parking and accessible routes. This article does not claim a specific lot is closed today.
Residents who want to track the work can follow the Phase II project timeline and future advisory board meetings. Questions can be directed to info@carmichaelpark.com.
